About the Practice

If you've been dealing with chronic pelvic pain, bladder issues, or post-surgical recovery and feel like no one has taken the time to really listen — Personalized Wellness & Recovery (PWR) was built for exactly that. Located inside Switchboard in Indianapolis, PWR is a cash-based pelvic health practice specializing in chronic pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis, constipation, and male pelvic health. PWR was founded by Ciera Lemons, PT, DPT, WCS, PRPC who is a board-certified Women's Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) and provides focused, expert-level care that's hard to find — especially in the Midwest.

This isn't a practice where you'll be handed a cookie-cutter exercise sheet based on your diagnosis code. The approach leans heavily into hands-on manual therapy — myofascial release, dry needling, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization — delivered in a quiet, calm environment with dimmed lights. Education plays a central role too, with behavioral retraining and a deep dive into the "why" behind what you're experiencing.

PWR is one of the few practices in Indianapolis actively treating male pelvic health conditions, an area with a significant provider shortage. Whether it's recovery after prostatectomy, managing BPH-related symptoms, or pelvic pain tied to cancer treatment, men can get specialized care here that's sorely lacking in the region. The practice also draws patients with interstitial cystitis through national pelvic health directories like the APTA.

Your journey starts with a complimentary consultation call — no charge, no commitment — to discuss your history and goals. That first in-person visit is intentionally unhurried. Expect the first 30 to 45 minutes to be a conversation, followed by a screening exam and potentially an internal pelvic floor assessment  if needed. There's no pressure to rush, and the focus is always on making sure you feel informed and comfortable before hands-on treatment begins.

The caseload is kept intentionally small — just a few patients per week — so you're never competing for attention or feeling rushed out the door. The goal isn't to keep you coming back indefinitely; it's to equip you with the tools to manage your health confidently on your own.

Ideal for patients who:

  • Are dealing with chronic pelvic pain that hasn't responded to previous treatment

  • Need male pelvic health care, including post-prostatectomy or BPH-related issues

  • Have been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis (IC/PBS) and want a WCS-certified therapist

  • Prefer hands-on manual therapy over exercise-only approaches

  • Are ready to actively participate in their recovery

Great results with:

  • Chronic pelvic pain (female and male)

  • Interstitial cystitis / painful bladder syndrome (IC/PBS)

  • Constipation and bowel dysfunction

  • Male pelvic health (post-prostatectomy, BPH, cancer-related)

  • Pregnancy preparation and postpartum recovery

  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • Urinary leakage and bladder issues

Not a fit:

Patients looking for a passive "fix me" experience or who aren't ready to commit to an active role in their own recovery — including following a home program between visits — may find a better fit elsewhere.

What to expect

Before your first visit, you'll have a complimentary phone consultation to discuss your history and goals. The initial evaluation is conversation-heavy — plan on 30 to 45 minutes of discussion before a screening exam and potentially an internal pelvic floor assessment. Prepaid packages are available, and virtual sessions can be arranged when in-person isn't possible.
