Thrive Neuro Therapy
About the Practice
Thrive Neuro Therapy opened in November 2023 with a simple conviction: people with complex neurological conditions deserve more than rushed visits and revolving-door providers. Co-founders Dori Walterhouse, DPT, and Justine Prikosovich, PTA, left well-resourced outpatient settings not because they lost faith in PT — but because the system kept getting in the way of actually doing it. They built Thrive to close that gap in downtown South Bend.
The clinical approach starts with nervous system regulation — and it starts on day one. Before any exercise or hands-on technique, the team works to understand the full picture: the history, the stress, the fear of not being believed. Functional goals drive everything. The target isn't a range-of-motion number; it's getting on the floor with your grandchildren, jogging with a stroller, or simply leaving the house again.
Thrive's team covers rare ground. Dori, a Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist with a residency from Ohio State, leads evaluations with a focus on functional neurologic disorders (FND) and POTS — conditions frequently dismissed elsewhere. Justine holds Advanced Proficiency in Neurology through the APTA and is one of the few specialists in the region for amputee rehabilitation and limb loss care. The team also includes a pelvic floor therapist (treating all ages and genders), a vestibular specialist with published research on vestibular migraine, and a PRN occupational therapist.
Every session — first evaluation or ongoing follow-up — runs 55 minutes, one-on-one with your clinician. No double-booking, no handoffs. First visits blend in-depth goal-setting with a functional assessment and an introduction to the nervous system principles that will shape your plan of care. Dry needling and virtual sessions are available when appropriate.
Patients here often say the same thing after a few visits: this doesn't feel like therapy I've had before. For people who've been told their symptoms aren't real or been moved through systems too fast to feel heard, that shift is where real progress begins.

What to expect
Every session runs 55 minutes, one-on-one with your therapist. Your first visit will feel more like a conversation than a traditional intake — expect detailed goal-setting, a functional assessment, and an early focus on nervous system regulation as a foundation for your recovery. Virtual sessions are available for added flexibility.
