About the Practice

At Raymer Strength & Rehab, the philosophy is simple: movement is medicine. Rather than restricting what you can do, the team here uses movement itself to help you feel better—while finding and treating the actual dysfunction underneath. It's an approach that keeps athletes active and progressing instead of sidelined and waiting.

Founded by Jeremy Raymer, a former elite Taekwondo athlete who earned four national medals and represented the U.S. on the U24 team, this Indianapolis facility has evolved from a garage gym into a true one-stop shop for Central Indiana athletes. The strength and conditioning program runs year-round with individualized programming, and the addition of physical therapy services means athletes no longer have to bounce between providers who never talk to each other. Here, your PT and strength coaches operate as a unified team—and because of how they're structured, Dr. Taylor Miller can actually collaborate directly with the coaching staff on your care.

What sets the assessment process apart is the technology. Beyond the standard Functional Movement Screen (which is free), Raymer offers an Advanced Athlete Assessment using Vald force plates. This battery of 13-14 tests—squats, single-leg work, depth jumps, hop tests, isometric pulls, even push-ups—provides objective data on exactly where imbalances exist. No guessing. The team can measure asymmetries precisely and track trends over time, which means faster, smarter progressions instead of over-programming correctives that slow athletes down.

Recovery gets the same attention as performance. Raymer is one of the only private facilities in Indiana with a Power Plate whole body vibration device—the only one with medical certification, backed by Mayo Clinic research. At 40 hertz, athletes get 40 muscle contractions per second, which translates to more efficient warm-ups, faster recovery between sets, and shorter cool-downs. It's a tool most people only find at large chain gyms, now available in a private training environment.

The team works with athletes as young as 10 through adults in their 70s—competitive travel ball players, weekend warriors getting into running, aging adults who want to stay independent, even cancer patients rebuilding bone density. Physical therapy sessions can be purchased individually or in packages, and superbills are provided for out-of-network reimbursement. Whether you need rehab, performance training, or both simultaneously, Raymer meets you where you are.

Ideal for patients who:

  • Want their rehab and strength training coordinated under one roof

  • Are competitive athletes (youth through adult) returning from injury

  • Prefer objective, data-driven assessments over subjective screens

  • Value year-round training—not just off-season work

  • Are weekend warriors, runners, or active adults with nagging issues

Great results with:

  • Overhead athletes (baseball, softball, volleyball, swimming)

  • Soccer and multi-sport youth athletes

  • Post-surgical and non-operative sports injury rehab

  • Active adults and aging populations staying independent

  • Injury risk assessment and movement dysfunction

  • Athletes needing return-to-play progressions

Not a fit:

Athletes or patients looking for a quick fix without commitment to the movement-based approach that makes this model work.

What to expect

New clients typically start with either a free Functional Movement Screen or the more comprehensive Advanced Athlete Assessment on force plates, depending on their goals. If physical therapy is needed, you'll complete a diagnostic evaluation with Dr. Miller before any treatment begins. From there, strength conditioning and rehab can run simultaneously—you don't have to finish PT before starting training unless it's medically contraindicated
